On February 11, the Volunteer Center hosted the 2008 Hearts of Texas Luncheon at the Hilton Anatole. The luncheon recognized outstanding community volunteerism with three awards:  the Youth Service Award, the Corporate Service Award and the Lifetime Achievement Award.

The Youth Service Award was presented to The Hockaday School and St. Mark’s School of Texas for their joint service-learning program.

Citi received the Corporate Service Award for their outstanding record of service to the community, both through employee volunteer programs and philanthropy.

Lyda Hill was the recipient of the Lifetime Achievement Award for her longtime volunteering with numerous local organizations, including the Visiting Nurses Association, the Junior  League and Crystal Charity Ball.
