Citizens to the Rescue!
6:30 – 8:30 p.m. 1/29, 5/29, 9/25 -- Volunteer Center of North
Texas (VCNT)
This is a special training for volunteers interested in assisting during disasters. Learn how to best serve alongside key response agencies and first responders when volunteering in your community. Gain knowledge of the anatomy of disaster response and make a difference in your community when they need it most.
Corporate Volunteerism: How Can I Get Involved?

Getting the word out about volunteer recognition events and outstanding accomplishments within your organization can greatly improve awareness of your mission and attract new volunteers. But communicating with the media is an art. Learn the best and worst ways to connect with a reporter near you.
The Power and Influence of Online Communities

Businesses, universities and now nonprofit organizations are turning to Facebook.com and MySpace.com to spread the mission of their agencies, communicate with volunteers and recruit new volunteers into their organizations. But this is no task for the technologically challenged. Gain knowledge on how to create accounts, and learn the pros and cons of communicating with this medium.

Essentials of Volunteer Management 2008

This action-packed 6 hour training is a must for new volunteer managers and a good refresher for experienced managers. The Essentials of Volunteer Management workshop covers all aspects of a successful volunteer program. Participation certificates are awarded to participants and CEUs are available. You can reserve a boxed lunch for $8 and enjoy lively networking or you can do lunch on your own from 12 to 1.
