ExxonMobil Community Summer Jobs Program

Introducing College Students to the Nonprofit Community.

For over 35 years, the ExxonMobil Community Summer Jobs Program (CSJP) has introduced college students to the importance of the nonprofit sector in our society. Since the program began in 1971 in New York City, ExxonMobil Foundation has provided over $6.6 million to support almost 3,200 community summer job internships.  Today it is active in 10 states, including Alabama, Alaska, California, Kansas, Louisiana, Montana, Oklahoma, Texas, Virginia, Wyoming and internationally in Angola.

Each summer, ExxonMobil Foundation provides 75 local nonprofit agencies with grants designated to hire college interns for eight weeks during the summer. Students are introduced to nonprofit social, cultural and health service organizations in the hope that they will consider careers or volunteer leadership positions in the nonprofit sector. Internship positions vary from caseworkers to public relations assistants to website designers.

The Volunteer Center of North Texas administers ExxonMobil CSJP on behalf of ExxonMobil Foundation. The Volunteer Center has administered the program in Dallas county, the largest in the country, since 1991.

Once grants have been awarded to the 75 nonprofit organizations, each organization is responsible for recruiting, interviewing and hiring their summer intern by April 30, 2008

PLEASE NOTE: Application deadlines vary with each position.  Refer to agency flyer or contact agencies for individual application closing dates.
