ServiceWorks!

Who?  ServiceWorks!, the City of Dallas Volunteer Program is a collaboration of the Volunteer Center of North Texas and the City of Dallas that provides volunteer administration and consultation to the departments of the City of Dallas.

What?  The City of Dallas Volunteer Program offers an effective volunteer management program that provides the citizens of Dallas with an opportunity to become an integral part of the Dallas – the City That Works!

Where?  The City of Dallas Volunteer Program places volunteers as support team members in all city departments.  A Volunteer Coordinator in each department coordinates the volunteers’ efforts in that department.  Volunteer opportunities are varied and include such diverse positions as office work, landscaping, customer service, research and community ambassadors.

Why?

  • To bring citizens into city services to see how they operate, enable them to contribute to the city’s development and provide support to the employees and departmental services.
  • To make effective use of tax dollars.
  • Leverage community resources in Dallas, The City That Works!
  • Develop volunteer support for staff, as well as, provide additional expertise to the department.
  • To involve corporate volunteers and service organizations in community activities.
  • Dallas is not just the city employees, but everyone.  Through an effective volunteer program throughout the city, we truly will be the city that works.
