DISASTER RELIEF Helping Agencies Help Others in North Texas
When disasters occur, responders are the first on the scene to stabilize the crisis and identify the needs of those affected. Then the work of volunteers begins. Volunteers are an important part of any disaster plan. The Volunteer Center of North Texas Disaster Relief Program refers volunteers based on their specialized skills and talents. Many training opportunities are available prior to a disaster response effort so that volunteers can gain the skills that are needed. Volunteers can learn how to help those in need effectively and safely.
