Special Events
Volunteer Center of North Texas has two special events each year: the Hearts of Texas Awards Luncheon and Serve-A-Thon annual day of service.
Hearts of Texas
Established in 2007, the Hearts of Texas Awards Luncheon is the signature event of VCNT, and recognizes individuals in the north Texas area who have dedicated themselves to impact the community through the donation of their time, talent and resources. Proceeds from the event support the mission of VCNT, with a special emphasis on looking forward and keeping volunteerism relevant.

Serve-A-Thon
Serve-A-Thon is an annual day of service, which aims to impact student literacy through the improvement of libraries, technology centers and classrooms, through the mobilization of teams of volunteers from around north Texas. Literacy is vital to ensuring each child has the best chance to succeed in their schooling and in everyday life, even past their years in Dallas ISD.
The children who attend our Serve-A-Thon schools deserve a bright, clean, welcoming place to learn. This is about more than just improving the physical environment of the school. These changes will have a lasting impact on all students who pass through the halls and classrooms of each of the "Serve-A-Thon" schools selected.
