The Collin County Lone Star Salute! Breakfast was held April 21, 2009 at the Plano Centre in Plano,
Texas. Collin County agencies who participated in the event included causes such as children’s needs,
seniors, animal rescue, the arts and social services.
Hilda Ruch, Ed.D., from Creative Connections, was the event’s guest speaker. After the
breakfast, more than 50 volunteers were honored for their contributions to Collin County
agencies. Special awards were presented to each honoree on stage in appreciation for their
“hands on” service to their communities.
