Community Service Restitution
Community Service Restitution (CSR) is a program administered by the Volunteer Center of North Texas. We place and monitor individuals who are court ordered to complete volunteer assignments. Such clients come from district, county, and municipal courts as well as the Dallas County District Attorney’s Memorandum program. We also refer students that have been required to do community service due to violation of State truancy laws.
This program benefits the Dallas and Tarrant county nonprofit sectors by providing a major source of volunteers to nonprofit agencies. Additionally, individuals who need to satisfy court-ordered requirements benefit.
CSR volunteers can accomplish many types of tasks, including but not limited to:
• Clean-up/Fix-up Projects
• Computer Support
• Animal Care
• Desktop Publishing
|
• Clerical Work
• Sorting Food or Clothing
• Painting/Carpentry
• Gardening/Landscaping |
CSR is a successful model that helps to enforce mandated community service requirements, while improving lives and strengthening communities in North Texas. |
