Bank of America Student Leaders® Program
The Student Leaders® Program stems from Bank of America's (BOA) commitment to support community leaders of today and tomorrow. As part of their Neighborhood Excellence Initiative (NEI), BOA cultivates future leaders to support and sustain the growth of vibrant neighborhoods.
Five high school students in their junior or senior years are recognized in each of BOA's 45 markets and are selected to participate based upon:
• A demonstrated commitment to their community
• Strong leadership qualities
• An interest in improving their neighborhood
Students participate in an eight-week paid, summer internship with selected nonprofit organizations where students develop and apply leadership skills though hands-on work experience. Additionally, students participate in a week-long, all expense paid Student Leadership Summit in Washington, D.C. where they are
introduced to civic, social and business leadership though the Close-Up Foundation.
VCNT provides administrative assistance to BOA in executing the program. Each participating organization in Dallas and Fort Worth receive a $5,000 grant to host student leaders and provide a quality summer internship experience. The grant covers the costs of Student Leader salaries and adminstrative overhead. All student selections are made by a Local Market Selection Committee comprised of local community leaders and BOA executives.
